Dear Valued Clients at Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic,

As the Covid-19 crisis continues to challenge our daily lives, we wish to say

First and most important, we hope that this email finds you and those you love healthy.  These are the most challenging times and over the course of the past 5 months, we have seen many changes to what was considered normal.  We have been successfully following the City of Los Angeles and California Veterinary Medical Association guidelines.  As such, we truly have appreciated your patience and understanding as we have made and followed their suggestions.  We were hoping to open the office to a more personalized experience as before but due to the increased COVID-19 numbers, we are not able to move to this stage.  Below are the protocols that we are following:

Appointments are required.  We do not accept unscheduled walk-ins.  If you have an emergency, you must call us in advance so we can understand your problem and prepare to triage.

Please plan to park in the parking lot behind our building and call us when you arrive.  Our goal is to minimize your contact with our staff.  When you arrive:

Call our Receptionist 310-474-3398 to be checked in.  

We will be asking you to describe your car: color and model and your phone number.

You are required to wear a mask or our staff will not be able to retrieve your pet.

Having as much information regarding why your pet is being examined written down on paper along with your cell phone number and a secondary number will help speed things through.  Please make sure to keep your phone available at all times.

Please plan on staying in your vehicle until a plan of action is determined by our doctor and is authorized by you.  

This process may take longer than usual and we appreciate your patience as your pet is triaged through our hospital.

For example, a routine examination can take at least 30-45 minutes.

We are finding wait times on the phone are longer than usual due to this extended process.  We are very sorry for the delays and appreciate your patience.

We are being extra diligent in our COVID-19 world to maintain the safety of our staff and yourselves so we can continue to offer the level of excellence as we have had for the past 34 years.

For over 30 years, our veterinarians, Dr. Jeffrey Marks , Dr. Lara Nicolayevsky ("Dr. Nic") Dr. Joanna Choi, Dr. Jennifer Gabriele, Dr. Sarina Pacifici and Dr. Ruby Soto  at Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic in West Los Angeles have been dedicated in serving your pet’s health and wellness.  We take pride in having the finest West Los Angeles veterinarian team, which has made us the premier animal hospital in and around the Los Angeles community.

As a full service West Los Angeles veterinary hospital, we offer everything from wellness exams, spay and neuter services, pet dental cleanings, surgical needs, vaccinations, and pharmaceutical medicine.  We also provide the community with daytime emergency and urgent pet care services.  Our state-of-the-art laboratory and in-house diagnostics team can run everything from routine tests and digital x-rays to more intensive ultrasound examinations.

General Pet Medicine at Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic

One of the most important services we offer is routine wellness exams because we want to help detect any problems that may be invisible to us, but are experienced by your pet.  These exams allow us to look for any signs of parasites, dermatological, otoscopic, or ophthalmological conditions.  Our team will do a head to tail exam, including listening to your pet's heart, examination of the skin, eyes, ears, and musculoskeletal system.  We may do testing of the blood, stool, and urine to assess organ function.  If your pet is due for any vaccinations or annual services, these can be updated during the course of the wellness examination. 

Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic offers routine pet dental care, such as cleanings and minor oral surgeries.  One day a month, we offer non-anesthetic pet dental cleanings by appointment only.  Other services we offer include spay and neuter surgeries, microchipping, a full-service pharmacy and a wide array of pet food and dietary supplements for animal health.

Surgical Services and Emergency Care

Our talented West Los Angeles veterinarians can perform more complex surgeries than basic spay or neuter procedures.  Some of our surgical procedures involve various soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Your pet is safely anesthetized and monitored in our high-tech lab throughout the procedure, whether they are routine or an emergency.  We have staff on hand for urgent care Monday through Saturday, and recommend calling or arriving as soon as possible, so we can begin administering immediate treatment.

Learn Who We Are

  • Dr.
    Marks

    Dr. Jeffrey Marks is the managing director of the Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic. His special interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, diseases of the ears and dermatology. He is a second generation veterinarian and has worked in a veterinary hospital since 1967 when he was just a 12 year old helping his father Dr. Alan Marks. Dr. Marks was born in Detroit, Mi. but considers Los Angeles his home. He feels that clients who bring their pet to Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic are not just clients but rather they are like part of the family.

  • Dr.
    Nicolayevsky ("Dr. Nic")

    Dr. Lara Nicolayevsky ('Dr. Nic') is a graduate of UC Davis Veterinary School and has been an associate at Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic since 2003. Prior to becoming a Veterinarian, Dr.Nic was a teacher and believes strongly in educating and empowering her clients. She enjoys speaking about Veterinary Medicine at elementary schools and various events. Dr. Nic is happily married, has young twins and a labradoodle named Hibbert. She enjoys hiking, traveling and baking.

    Choi

    Dr. Joanna Choi hails all the way from Manhasset, NY, a small town on Long Island, close to New York City. She attended Wellesley College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience. Before veterinary school, she performed Parkinson's disease research, worked with a local small animal veterinarian, and worked at the New York Aquarium. Dr. Choi received her veterinary degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

    Her interests include surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, preventative medicine, and exotics. Dr. Choi enjoys spending time with her energetic Jack Russell Terrier named Maya, traveling, baking, outdoor activities, and discovering the beautiful state of California.

    deBlanc-Knowles ("Dr. Knowles")

    Dr. Meghan deBlanc-Knowles (“Dr. Knowles”) graduated from Massey University Veterinary School in New Zealand after obtaining her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Fine Art and Writing.

    Her special interests in the veterinary sphere include internal medicine, clinical pathology, surgery, and animal behavior. She is passionate about client education and communication, and is a fervent advocate of the human-animal bond.

    When she is not at the clinic, Dr. Knowles enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, trivia, and going to the movies.
